After a long wait in what seemed like the worst traffic jam ever, we finally arrived at Edinburgh’s 'Royal Highland Centre' for the Choices for Life Gig. Choices For Life is there to help Children make the right choice, encouraging them to be an individual with a healthy lifestyle and to resist peer pressure.

We were greeted by security staff where we collected our passes, and went on up to the guest area, to wait for Greg Friel... it might be worthwhile noting here that whilst we waited we made the most of eating every muffin in sight and drinking copious amounts of tea and water.

A short while later, the phone rings, it's Greg asking us to meet him down stairs, so off we go... We're taken out through the back of the venue, and into the backstage area.

The area was dark, in fact it was so bright outside we had difficulty seeing for the first few seconds which must have looked quite funny to those already inside with their already accustomed to the light. We took a seat at a table near the canteen area and began talking with Greg and other Pacific Avenue associates including their guitarist Robin, and drummer Ian Hendry.

Talks of the Germany move were very much the topic of conversation, it's fair to say the guys have very big interest over there, and with the track they are currently recording we think the guys will have every success they deserve.
During this conversation John, Russell and Alan appeared from their dressing room and came over to join us. Carrying on with the conversation, it was well noted that the guys have so much determination and drive for their career that whatever crosses their path they'll always come out on top.

On noting that the Backstage Passes all had numbers on them Alan realised he was potentially the next James bond when he saw his number was 007!!

Throughout the day the sound of 9000 screaming school children that had travelled from all over Scotland could be heard, and really fed into the atmosphere. There's nothing like a watching a band prepare to go on stage the excitement and adrenaline, waiting to go on and perform.

The wait was over and the guys made there way to the stage access stairs, their introduction was difficult to hear through all the noise, and Pacific Avenue ran out on stage to perform one of their new track 'Put the light out' and 'I'm Still Dreaming'.

Watching them on the big screen the guys performance was fantastic, feeding off the crowds response the guys gave 100% and had the crowd on their feet singing along all throughout their performance.

No sooner had they gone on stage, than the guys were coming off buzzing, hugging and kissing everyone, whilst being congratulated on a fantastic performance.

They couldn't wait to get back on stage, but for now, it was time to relax and watch the other acts perform... oh I should add in here that the smell of food was seeping out of the pots and bellies were rumbling all around, but food wasn't being served until all the acts had finished so until then we were still munching on the muffins we had taken earlier in the day!!

Other performers included, Natalie James and Bellboys who both put on a fantastic performance, and received an amazing reception from the crowd.

The show was soon coming to a close and after a number of photo's being taken, lunch was served... Meatballs :D Fantastic for a vegetarian like me, so I spent some time auctioning off mine and talking to Russell about his love for music, his drive to succeed in the business wanting nothing more than to 'Just Sing', whether it's in his local bar singing on the Karaoke or performing in front of thousands, he then went on to sing Home (by Michael Buble), if you ever have the pleasure of meeting Russell, ask him to sing it for you ;).

By this time the crew were getting ready to go home. Everyone hustled outside for one last group photo, whilst I battled with the wind and my skirt (the wind was winning). The guys made their way back over, we said our goodbye's and went on our way..

All in all a fabulous day was had by all and we wish everyone the best of luck with the rest of the tour.
